Wind power "Twin Stars"! The world's largest single-capacity floating wind power platform has been hoisted

With the precise docking of the second impeller and the hub, the "OceanX Mingyang Tiancheng", the world's largest floating wind power platform with the largest single capacity, undertaken by Power China, has recently completed hoisting. It will expand the scale of global offshore wind power development and open a new era of a community with a shared future for mankind to "strengthen the sea".
The Mingyang Yangjiang 16.6 MW floating offshore wind power demonstration project is located in the sea near Shapa Town, Yangxi County, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. The “Fourth Five-Year Plan” energy science and technology innovation project is undertaken by Guizhou Engineering Company, a subsidiary of Power Construction Corporation of China.
The project adopts the world's leading floating technology and typhoon-resistant design, which can adapt to extreme sea conditions up to Category 17 typhoons. It also has the world's largest single unit capacity, the lightest weight per megawatt, and is typhoon resistant. With its strong capabilities and other characteristics, it is an offshore wind power project with epoch-making significance.
"Mingyang Tiancheng" wind power platform adopts MySE16.6(T)
Wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 16.6 MW, are composed of two sets of 8.3 MW wind turbines arranged in a "V" shape, sharing a floating foundation. The highest point of the impeller reaches 219 meters. With a maximum width of approximately 369 meters in the air, it is the world's largest capacity twin-rotor floating wind turbine.
This unit adopts a dual-head design, which is the first of its kind in the world. There is neither precedent nor ready-made experience to draw from for its hoisting work. In order to ensure the balance of the entire fan system, the two sets of units on the left and right sides of the "V" shape need to be constructed at the same time and installed at the same time. In the face of the lack of reference materials and the unfavorable factors of complex and changeable climate, the power construction team overcame numerous difficulties, battled typhoons and scorching heat, and successfully completed the installation task.
Next, the "Mingyang Tiancheng" will be towed to the Yangjiang Offshore Wind Farm in Guangdong for offshore installation. According to estimates, after the floating unit is officially put into operation, it can generate an average of about 54 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, which can meet the daily electricity consumption of 30,000 households of three for a year.
